Sportsmanship Policy
Good Sportsmanship and cooperation are both anticipated and expected. The team Captain or designated coach, if applicable, is expected to aid in Controlling. teammates and team followers' Conduct and to represent his/her team as a Spokesman in Case of appeals to the Court monitor. Poor sportsmanship Could result in Penalties against the team. in either & technical, intentional or flagrant foul Categories (see rule 12). Failure to Comply with the Spirit of Sunburn Classic With acts such as Sighting, taunting, Intimidating or verbally abusive to a tournament official, Player or Spectator may lead to removal of that player, team, and/or Spectator from the tournament. Any election from the entire tournament Will result in Suspension from next year's Sunburn at a minimum. Decisions made by tournament officials are final and are not subject to review by Video, recordings or
other sources...
1 Who can play
The tournament is open to players. entering grades 3rd through 12 as well as adults. A designated coach is
required for all youth teams. A player. Cannot Play for multiple teams unless approval is granted by tournament Director
2 Number of players
Each team May
Consist of a maximum of 4 Players (5 players for Money Division) and a minimum of 3 players. Only 3 Players on the Court at any time For Co-ed teams, a member of the opposite sex must be on the Court at all times. All games will start With at least 3 Players on each team. Any number of players (1,2, or 3) May Complete a game.
3 equipment Apparel
No player shall be allowed to wear a guard, Cast, hard brace or other Potentially dangerous equipment on his or her elbow hand, wrist, finger or forearm, including equipment made of hard leather, Plastic, Plaster or metal even if Covered by Soft Padding. Soft braces, Sleeves and wraps will be allowed unless they pose danger to other players. Jewelry hair bands,
Clips Will not be allowed. Sunburn retains the right to disallow any equipment or apparel that it Judges to be dangerous or inappropriate.
4 Eligibility issues
All High School and College Players are encouraged to check with their Coaches or athletic directors about Participating in the Sunborn classic and the potential effects on their eligibility. Sumber Classic is not responsible for determining an athlete's eligibility Under NCAA or applicable high school Association rules.
5 Bracket Types
Teams will be divided into tournament brackets according to its players ages. of Immediate upcoming school grades, heights, playing experience and Competition level. Tournament officials reserve the right to Verify a Players entry form data,
false information will be grounds for dismissal from the tournament
6 Basket Heights
Baskets will be at 8 feet high for players entering grades 3 through 4 the height win be 10 feet for all other brackets.
7 Basketball Size
The intermediate size ball will be used for all female games and any make or co-ed Games Consisting of players entering grades 3-6 full size ball will be used for all other games.
8 Free throw Shooting Distance the distance for free throws will be 10 feet for brackets consisting of teams whose players are entering grades 3 through 4 and playing on an 8 foot basket; the
distance will be 15 feet for all other brackets.
9 Two paint shooting Distance The distance for two-Point Shooting is 16 feet for grades 3-10 Gad playing on an & fat hoop
The distance will be 19 feet for all other brackets.
10 Stealing the ball

12 Crowd Control
The Team Captains or designated Parent/coach are the only people, other than the players whom are permitted to address the Court Monitor Any fans or Parents who negatively addresses a Court monitor, Marshal or tournament official may be assessed a technical foul to their team.
13 Fouls
In all brackets Court monitors. will call all fails. All called fouls Shall result in one free throw shot, except on successful field goals, in which case the basket counts and no free throw shot is awarded During a freethrow, opposing team Players may not intentionally disrupt the Shooters unhindered throw. A Change of Possession will result Whether the shad is made or missed do Players fouled behind the two Points are in the act of Shooting Will be awarded two free throws. A Player fooled behind the Arc not in the act of shouting will be awarded one free throw, the exception will be for Successful field goal in which No free throw is awarded. Elite division rules Will vary.
13A Technical fouls
A technical foul will be called for Unsportsmanlike acts such as Taunting, baiting or trash talk. Taunting and baiting Can involve derogatory remarks or gestures that incite or insult a Player. Trash
deeply personal Verbal attack directed toward any person involved in the event. In extreme. cases, the player may also be Suspended from that game and a Coach or fan removed from the court for the remainder of that game or for the rest of the tournament. If the Court Monitor determines that the team is Stalling in the interest. of preserving a Winning margin. A technical foul results in one point for the offended team and Possession of the ball.
13 b Intentional Fouls
An Intentional foul is a foul designed to neutralize an opponent's obvious advantageous position. It is a foul which, based on the Court Monitor's observation of the act, is not a legitimate attempt to play the ball. A foul shall also be ruled intentional, based on the Monitor's observation of the act, if while attempting to play the ball, a player causes excessive Contact. An Intentional foul results in one point for the offended team
and Possession of the ball
13C Flagrant fouls
A flagrant foul may be of a Violent or aggressive nature, or an act which displays Unacceptable Conduct. It may or may not be intentional. It may involve Violent or aggressive Contact Such as Striking, Kicking, Kneeing, Moving under a player while in the air, and Crouching of hipping in a Manner Which Could Cause Severe injury to the opponent

Stalling is prohibited. Stalling is a style of play in which a team does not actively attempt to advance the ball towards the basket and shoot. It is a method to run out the game clock to Preserve a win, Stalling is Considered Unsportsmanlike act and will result in a technical foul against the offending team

15 Which team Receives the ball first A Coin toss prior to each game will determine which team gets the ball check first.
16 Keeping Score
All Made baskets from inside the two point are counted for one Point and all made baskets from outside of the two-point are counted for two Points. The first team to 20 points win
17A Length of Games - All Divisions
The target score for all games is 20 Points, Meaning the first team to reach 20 points within 20 minutes of play is declared the winner. The team that reaches 20 Points does not need to have a Winning Margin of 2 points or greater. The 20 minute Clock does not stop during team time-outs and if the court Monitor stops play for player injury or other unusual circumstances. if neither team has reached a score of 20 Points, the Court monitor shall stop the game after 20 minutes of play. At the Conclusion of 20 minutes of play the team with the lead Shall be declared the winner.
B. If the Score is tied after 20 minutes of play, the game will be decided by a Sudden death Free throw shootout. A Coin flip will determine first Shooter, there will be one shooter from each team
they will shoot until one Misses as follows
If team A shooter makes the free throw, the team B shooter Will be required to also make the free throw If team B Shooter misses the
free throw, Team A is declared the Winner
If Team A Shooter misses the free throw and team B shooter makes the free throw Team B is declared the winner.
If both Team A and B miss Shooter or make a freethrow, the Process will continue until a winner is declared No game shall go beyond 20 Pants C Sunburn Classic games
are 20 minutes in length or first team to reach 20 Points All Sunburn games. have a Shotgun Start Meaning All games start and stop at the Same time with a horn blow
There will be a 2 minute start play Warning horn, a 2 minute Warning! for both half time and end of game There will be 10 minutes of play, a 2 Minute Half time break and 10 minutes of play.
Each team is awarded one time out per game, 30 Seconds in length (time will continue to run during time outs). Use of this time out must occur prior to the 2 minute end of game horn, No time outs will be granted in the last 2 minutes of the Game. Calling
a Second time out results in a technical foul, I point to opposite team and
loss of ball.
18 Checked Ball
The ball must be "checked" with a Proper Puss back by an opposing player before it is put into play. The Check must take place behind the dashed take back line and not the out of bounds or end line. Opposing players checking the ball must give the offensive Player enough space and time to receive the check back before applying defense. Other opposing defenders may apply denial defense to offensive Players Since live Play is available directly after ball Check.

Change of Possession
The ball will change Possession after Scored basket and all freethrow & attempts with the exception of Technical or flagrant fouls.
20 Taking it back
The ball will be "taken back" on each Change of Possession regardless of whether or not a shot was attempted. Failure to take it back results in
loss of possession and any Points Scored 'Taking it back" Means bringing your whole body and the ball behind the dashed li take it back line Not the sideline or 2 point arc
21 Ball out of bands
A Ball out-of-bounds will be taken out from behind the "take it back" line
22 Boundaries
The basket structure, Padding and Structural Supports will be out of bounds. The backboard Face, TOP, Top bottom and Sides will be in bounds.
23 Jump Ball
In a Jump ball situation the ball will first go to the team that lost Coin toss, All Other Jump-ball situations will alternate Possession.
24 Dunking
Dunking is not allowed at any time including Warm VB. Dunking will be an Unsportsmanlike infraction and result is technical foul.
25 Substitutions
Substitutions can only be made in a dead ball or timeout situation
26 Time out
EACH team is granted one 30 Second to be used before 2min end of game horn. No time at in last 2 minutes of game will be granted
27 Wheelchair Participants
Players in the wheelchair division that a liberal three seconds in the key rule will be enforced. All Wheelchair players not currently active in the game must stay behind End line or Sideling depending on Court Set-Up Chair Measurements are expected to be in accordance with established wheelchair rules.
28 Player Injury
A Court. Monitor has the discretion to suspend Play for the Protection of an injured player. If a player. is bleeding or has an open wand, that Player must exit the game and properly, dre's the Wound. A player with bloodstained clothing or bandage must remove articles before entering the game. Any Player believed to have lost consciousness or severely injured Sunburn Classic may require a Written note from a Medical Doctor Who has examined the player and Authorizes that player to Continue play in the tournament.
29 Game Times
Game times for all teams in all divisions will be available on the tourney Machine app. Registration tends does not have a bracket board available.
